Can we consider fashion as an art? This is quite debatable for some beings. I think fashion is a form of decorative art, applied for our body, as opposed to fine art. You have surely come across some very exquisite and moving portraits of the greatest artists such as Peter Paul Rubens, Leonardo da vinci, Monet, Picasso and so forth. The portrait is a still image, a mask, an interpretation of an opinion, matter, an experience in life that artists have expressed onto a canvas. I believe fashion has great similarities when compared to these portraits. It is a mask behind your true being.Or exactly the opposite. It can directly tell people who you are. You can also disguise yourself in clothing, and for the time being be satisfied, and grateful for escaping into another life-even if it is just for one night. Clothing is very important if you think about it clearly. You can be looked down on, if you wear the wrong clothing, or immediately be put into this stereotypical label. This is why your appearance matters so much when speaking of fashion, because strangers do not know you, so the only way they judge you is by your outfits. Fashion is very important for appearance, because it can open doors that cannot be opened if you for example are walking around a train station bare feet, with just an oversize shirt hugging your body. People would immediately associate you as a crazy person, or a physco, and their first instinct would be to move away. On the other hand, if you clutched a Louis vuittion bag, wore Prada shoes, and a Marc Jacobs jacket, then you most probably would be immediately classed as a rich girl. Even if you have borrowed the clothes from the store. My point is, that the same amount of artistic expression goes into clothing, as much as in paintings. With colour, and material you can achieve a lot. Fashion also distinguishes a certain period of time, so people are aware of the century. Fashion is beauty. Isn't that after all what art is about? A form of expressed visual beauty?

Is Fashion art?

Marc Jacobs through the years

Marc Jacobs was a fashion legend from the start. He has produced some of the finest clothing in my opinion. I just wanted to share with you my love for him, and here are in yet again my opinion, some of his masterpieces. Observe, and enjoy! Feel free to comment on any clothing aspect you want. His clothing are very cleverly put. Each outfit is either poignantly romantic, or remarkably sophisticated.

Note: I love the colours he uses for each outfit!

Prada, Prada, Prada

Devil Wears Prada

I have never really talked about the Devil Wears Prada outfits. I have always meant to, because when I saw that movie in the cinema, I was transfixed! My god the outfits were beautiful, classy, sassy, stylish you name it! I do realize that the clothes are kind of "behind" when compared to the latest trends but having a bit of harmless fun and relating fashion to those outfits, can be... let's say entertaining. I'll be showing you my favourite outfits from the movie.

Ps.If you haven't watched the movie and love fashion, then please do, it's highly recommended!

here's the juicy plot for those who haven't seen the movie:
A naive young woman comes to New York and scores a job as the assistant to one of the city's biggest magazine editors, the ruthless and cynical Miranda Priestly. Let's leave it at that. hint: It's a fashion magazine, and let's say the main character at first has no sense of style whatsoever. Until she starts learning about the different trends there are.

To Address the polka dot dress:
This soft, lemon yellow, polka-dot summery dress could catch people's attention in a sec. Imagine the flowing fabric gently brush past your legs! I think we have another winner here. Picture this. A warm sunny day. You are sitting on a white blanket having a picnic. This dress would be the perfect occasion! Tune in on London Fashion week, and you might be able to take a peep at the dress if you are there!

Those Grey tight!-
A perfect way of seeing what's in this season. Grey tights are perfect to be paired up with high-heels. An accurate combination that will make you look trendy, but most importantly, it will make you feel stylish. After all fashion is an art that makes you feel comfortable, relaxed, and beautiful. It is an art that you can demonstrate to the world, but also-to boost your confidence. H&M is the perfect place to buy a pair of stretchy grey tights, at no more than 5 euros I would daresay
